Good Christmas bedding is made of 100% cotton, ideally mercerised. Choose the size to fit your duvet, and pick a motif that won't feel tired after Christmas Eve – snowflakes or embroidered Christmas trees, for example. As a gift, a set in a decorative box works best. At Miya Home our Christmas bedding comes in 200x220 cm, a size for double and king-size beds.

Why is Christmas bedding worth having?
Christmas starts at home, and the bedroom is where we spend most of our December evenings. A Christmas bed set is the simplest way to change the mood of a room without redecorating or spending much. One set is enough to make the bed look festive from the first of December until Twelfth Night. It's also a gift that won't gather dust on a shelf – it gets used every year.
Which fabric is best for Christmas bedding?
Go for 100% cotton. It breathes, doesn't build up static, doesn't overheat in a warm bedroom and copes well with washing at 40°C. You have two options:
Feature | Mercerised cotton | Cotton satin |
|---|---|---|
Feel | soft, matte | smooth, cool, with a subtle sheen |
Look | natural, cosy | elegant, “hotel” style |
Colour fastness | high thanks to mercerisation | high thanks to mercerisation |
Best for | fans of classic cotton | anyone who likes smooth, silky bed sheets |
Mercerisation is a cotton treatment that strengthens the fibres and gives them a sheen, so the bedding looks new for longer and doesn't fade in the wash. Read more in Cotton satin: what is it?. If your bedroom is really cold, take a look at our guide to flannel bedding.

Which size: single, double or king?
Choose the bedding to fit your duvet, not your bed:
Single (135x200 cm) – for single beds;
Double (200x200 cm) – the standard UK double duvet;
200x220 cm – the continental double size, between a UK double and a king (225x220 cm); it fits beds 140–180 cm wide.
Measure your duvet before buying – it's the surest way to get a perfect fit. Our Christmas bed sets have a 200x220 cm duvet cover and a 240x260 cm flat sheet, which easily wraps a mattress on a double or king-size bed.

Which Christmas motif should you choose?
Snowflakes are the most versatile. They suit Scandinavian, modern and classic interiors, and a winter motif doesn't look out of place in January or February.
Embroidered Christmas trees give a clearly festive touch without being kitsch. Embroidery on white pillowcases looks elegant.
A rich plain colour – navy or warm orange – creates a festive mood without literal motifs. Add a red throw or fairy lights and you're done.
Christmas bed set with or without a bedspread?
A set with a bedspread, like EVA BRONTE, instantly looks like a catalogue photo: by day the bedspread covers the bed, at night you have a reversible duvet cover. The PAMIRA satin sets instead have 4 pillowcases in two sizes, so the bed looks fuller and you get pillows in 50x70 and 60x80.
How to decorate your bedroom for Christmas
Start with the bedding. It's the largest surface in the room and sets the colour of the whole space.
Add layers: a bedspread, a throw at the foot of the bed and extra cushions.
Use warm light: LED fairy lights on the headboard or candles in glass lanterns.
Match colours to the bedding: silver and white with grey, navy and gold with blue, wood and green with orange.
Add scent: spruce branches or a reed diffuser with cinnamon or orange notes.
Which Christmas bedding makes the best gift?
For parents or a couple: 200x220 is the safest size for a double bed with one shared duvet.
For lovers of classics: white and grey EVA BRONTE with snowflakes suits any interior.
For colour lovers: PAMIRA BRICK – warm orange with Christmas trees.
For the whole winter: navy PAMIRA BEYAZ LACIVERT – elegant, without obvious Christmas motifs.
EVA BRONTE sets come in a decorative gift box, ready to hand over.
How to wash Christmas bedding so it lasts
Gentle cycle at 40°C, low spin.
Do not bleach or dry clean.
