Floral bedding
The floral pattern comes back to the bedroom in two versions: small dense motifs in the Provençal manner, which work as a background, and large painterly compositions on a dark ground — closer in role to a picture on the wall. The first brightens a small room, the second gives order to a large one.
The pattern sits best on satin: the smooth ground keeps the outline crisp and the sheen deepens the colours. Sets come in the 200×220 size, usually with a sheet, some with a bedspread.
For something less literal, look at ornaments or paisley — the floral motif in its oriental form. And for texture instead of print — embroidered bedding.
