Satin bedding — smooth, cool, elegant
Satin is not a fibre but a weave. The cotton threads lie so that the surface reflects light and takes on a soft, silky sheen — with no polyester and no artificial effect. Hence the cool touch: satin bedding feels pleasantly cool in summer and does not build up static in winter.
The catalogue carries several kinds. Classic cotton satin works all year round. Mako satin, woven from long-staple cotton, is denser and grows softer with every wash. And satin made of Egyptian cotton is the most durable and the most delicate of the family.
How to choose a satin set
Size. The 200×220 set is the most popular one — it fits a double bed and a euro duvet. A guest or single bedroom needs a smaller size, and 50×70 pillowcases fit most pillows sold in Poland.
Pattern. Satin carries both plain colours and decoration well: embroidery emphasises the sheen of the fabric, ornaments and the paisley pattern lend the bedroom an oriental character, and florals brighten the room. If you want the bed to look complete, have a look at the sets with a bedspread.
Care
Satin needs no special treatment: wash at 30–40 °C, no bleach, iron on the reverse while the fabric is slightly damp. Do not tumble it dry — that is the one thing that really shortens the life of the sheen.
